What would be a good sample size for measuring drops from maps? 50? 100? The best sample is always more. Start with 50,then 100, 150, 200... Make a graph and then make conclusions. When I collected data in legacy league it was in sections of 100 and it was good enough to balance out and find relationships between stuff.
It depends on what you are trying to drop. If alch+go, no sextants Zana mods chisels etc, no player IIQ and you do 100 and drop an exalt and include that in your results, that exalt drop alone will skewer the results a lot.
But in legacy with biscos and other legacy IIQ gear and 3 really good league stones, sextants etc etc you could very reliably drop 1 exalt and reliquary every 60 maps or so. So with a sample size of 100 I could include those drops without making the results inaccurate because the drops of exalts/keys was very reliable.
It doing burial chambers and you drop 1 doctor in 50 maps and include that in the total chaos per map calculation, you are displaying data extremely badly. Something like a doctor card requires thousands of maps to be able to include them.
But if you are looking at like wisdom scroll drops per map, you could run 5 and it'll give you a good estimate. So depends on the drops you are including in your loot calculations. There are tips and rules that
