Mangaluru, Jan 2: Immoral rowdism, also widely known as moral policing, has raised its head at picnic spot at Manasa Water Park, Pilikula in city. Activists of a Hindu organization unexpectedly thrashed young boys and girls who were enjoying their picnic here on Tuesday, January 2.

The boys and girls attacked are the students of Pompei PU College in Talipady, Aikala. They belonged to three different religious. They had come on a picnic at Pilikula.

The boys and girls were rounded by Hindu activists and beaten up. Police who arrived at the spot rescued the students. They dispersed those who were creating trouble and took the young boys and girls in their custody.

It is said that the activists continued to assault the college students even in the presence of police. A girl was also seen being slapped by a man in front of a policeman.


Relating to the immoral rowdism, also known as moral policing, that took place at Pilikula on Tuesday in which some college students were beaten up by Hindu activists, police arrested one person who had assaulted one of the girls.

The arrested person is Sampath Shetty (25) who is a resident of Moodushedde. As per reports, he belongs to Hindu Jagarana Vedike.

The parents of the victim students complained to Kavoor police station after which the police arrested Sampath Shetty.
