'SMMC Sports 2018' - It will be a one-day Indoor cricket and throw ball tournament at the Sprite Insportz Sports Club Dubai on Friday, April 27.
St Mary’s Mangalorean Community (SMMC) Dubai has announced the first mega event of the organization for this year - ‘SMMC Sports 2018’. It will be a one-day Indoor cricket and throw ball tournament at the Sprite Insportz Sports Club Dubai on Friday, April 27.
Since its commencement in 2013, SMMC, a fast growing and popular Mangalurean organization at St Mary’s Catholic Church Dubai is functioning to fulfil the spiritual and community requirements of the huge Mangalurean Konkani community of Dubai and has been successfully organizing various events like dramas, sports event, competitions, stage programmes, feast celebrations etc.
SMMC has been successfully organizing this indoor sports event from past consecutive 3 years. This year too, newly elected SMMC core committee under the leadership of present coordinator Jerina Lewis and SMMC spiritual director Rev. Fr. Robert Lasradois intending to make thisfirst major venture of the organization as a gratifying event of this year.
SMMC requests for the generous support from the Konkani community for this event, through significant contribution and active participation to make this event a spectacular one.
Like every year, this popular sports event is a full day indoor event, open only for Catholic teams, where skilled teams from different emirates are expected to participate. Attractive gifts and trophies will be presented to the winning teams and individuals too for their exceptional performance.
Teams are invited to play in the following categories:-
• Cricket (Men)
• Throw Ball (Women)
• Throw Ball (Men)
Registration fee will be AED 500/- per team. It will be open on ‘first come first serve’ basis. Water and lunch will be provided for each participating team member.
