Thirsty Brits hit the town last night to celebrate Brexit and the end of dry January.

Hundreds of sozzled revellers took to city centres across the country to party away a month of sobriety.

And the added incentive of leaving the EU meant it was enough to send drinkers wild.

Party-goers in Birmingham descended on the city's the Broad Street nightclub strip to party the night away.

Midnight turned Dry January into binge drinking February.

Party-goers made sure they used every hour to celebrate a new beginning.

Police arrested one man for an unknown incident and he was led to an awaiting cop van.
