Andhra Pradesh (India): Three youths allegedly gangraped a 21-year-old woman in front of her male friend in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. The accused also clicked nude pictures of the woman to blackmail her.
The incident took place two weeks ago when the woman had gone to a beach Komaragiripatnam Kadadari with her friend. The trio found the woman on the beach and forced her to come with them. The accused flogged them after the woman and her friend protested.
They tied her friend and gangraped the woman and clicked her photographs to use them to discourage her from approaching the police.
She did not report the incident to the police citing social stigma.
According to a report by TOI, the youth threatened to post the woman's naked photos on the Internet. She then narrated the whole incident to her family members who later lodged a complaint against the three youths.
A case was registered by the Andhra police under various sections and the survivor was sent to a hospital for medical examination.
