A woman in Kanpur killed her husband with the help of her lover after being caught red-handed by the victim.
Uttar Pradesh, India: A woman and her lover killed the former's husband after being caught red-handed in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur, the police said.
The incident took place in the Chakeri police station area on Friday night. The wife allegedly was having an illicit affair. She was at her home with her lover when her husband caught them, the police said, adding that the two killed the husband after an altercation.
The two then threw the corpse in the ruins behind the house. The next morning, the wife went to the police and filed a complaint, the police said.
The wife told the cops that some people had come to meet her husband, Sarvesh, late at night. He had an argument with them and then went somewhere, she told the police. In the morning, his body was found behind the house, she said in the complaint.
However, when the police investigated the case, they found evidence of the wife - Sonam's affair with another man who was also found to be present at her house late on the night of the murder.
Chakeri police station in-charge Madhur Mishra said that neighbours informed the cops about the affair and the cell phone data helped prove that the wife's lover was at the victim's house at the time of the murder.
The accused confessed to the murder during interrogation by the police. He told the police that he and Sonam strangled Sarvesh to death in a fit of rage. The Chakeri police have arrested both of them.
